OBJETIVOS DEL CURSO.

In the current difficult economic situation that plagues many countries, companies feel the urge to enter new, foreign markets in order to expand their sales and compensate for their lagging domestic markets; and in order to do that, they need to recruit the staff that is capable of handling the diverse aspects of international trade in a correct and secure manner.

The main purpose of this course is to allow participants to acquire the basic but solid technical knowledge that is required to deal in international trade successfully. To attain that goal, the principal “tools of the trade” are explained and discussed in detail, together with some of the restrictions and constraints agreed within the World Trade Organization (WTO) that directly affect the management of international commerce. An active participation on the part of the students is a major element to derive the maximum profit from the course; all students are encouraged to ask questions and to provide comments and insights related to their own daily professional experiences. It is my desire and hope that many of the participants in this course may find a useful professional accommodation in any of the numerous companies that are currently internationalizing their activities. In any case, a serious and comprehensible study of the topics included in this course should equip participants to:

  • Comfortably use INCOTERMS in international transactions and accurately calculate prices for goods to be imported or exported.
